Current Water Bans
As of 06/04/2008
The State of Georgia has approved Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority for Level IVc water use modification within our service area through December 31, 2008. Under Level IVc, all outdoor water uses are allowed on an odd/even basis, three days per week between midnight and 10:00 A.M. Odd addresses may water on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays; even addresses on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays. You may also pressure wash and wash cars.
Dr. Carol Couch, Director of the Ga. EPD, stated “ I have determined that you have provided evidence sufficient to support a reasonable conclusion that the water restrictions established by the State are not necessary or appropriate to relieve or avoid a local water shortage”.
This benefit is made possible because of the Authority’s past and present Board of Directors’ planning and implementation such as our reservoir, plants, distribution and storage that meets our communities future needs.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation in conserving North Georgia's water.
CCWSA now has an Illegal Water Use Hotline. To report a concern you may call: (770) 367-2322
These water restrictions are in compliance with EPD guidelines. EPD will be monitoring Georgia's drought situation and may change water restrictions accordingly. Thank you for conserving Georgia's water.
